Step one
We get to know you
A conversation with your matchmaker, usually about half an hour: what you're looking for, what hasn't worked so far, and how much time you actually have to date.
A premium matchmaking service
Your Duet Matchmaker gets to know what you're looking for, reviews every potential introduction personally, and introduces you to people worth meeting. You spend less time swiping and more time meeting.
Most introductions end up as a coffee or a drink on a weekday evening.
The problem
Meeting people isn't the hard part anymore. An active Duet member may see thousands of profiles in a month. Working out which two or three are genuinely worth meeting is what still takes time.
So the search keeps going. You scroll, you match with a few people, you message two of them, and a month later you still haven't met anyone. Most of that effort never turns into a date.
How matchmaking works
Step one
A conversation with your matchmaker, usually about half an hour: what you're looking for, what hasn't worked so far, and how much time you actually have to date.
Step two
Technology identifies the strongest potential introductions across Duet. Your matchmaker reviews every recommendation before you see it: profile, photos, stated preferences, and what they're looking for.
Step three
Once you've both said yes, we arrange the first date at a time that works for both of you. We take care of the venue too, chosen with your input and somewhere convenient for you both.
Why we're different
An app shows you everyone and leaves the sorting to you. Matchmaking does the sorting first.
Finding people
Endless browsing. The work is yours.
Carefully chosen introductions, a few at a time.
How matches surface
Automated recommendations.
Duet technology plus human review.
Built around
Browsing, matching, and messaging.
Real dates. Time spent with people.
Volume
Hundreds of profiles, little context.
A few a month, each one handpicked for you.
Getting to the date
A conversation that fades out.
Your matchmaker helps agree a time and a place.
Your effort
Constant.
One conversation, then introductions come to you.
Your profile stays as it is and you can keep using Duet normally. Matchmaking runs alongside it, and you'll only hear from us when there's an introduction to make.
Each matchmaker works with a limited number of members at a time.
The human element
Your matchmaker is part of a dedicated team of professional matchmakers. They read your profile, ask follow-up questions after your first conversation, and keep notes as they go, so you're not explaining yourself again each time you speak.
Every introduction teaches them something. If you accept, they ask how the date went. If you decline, they ask what was off. Each introduction helps your matchmaker better understand what to look for next.
They stay involved until you've met: agreeing a time with each of you, choosing somewhere convenient for you both, and following up if the plan slips.
"Some of the best introductions we make are people who probably wouldn't have found each other through swiping alone."
Our philosophy
Duet Matchmaking is built into Duet, our dating app used by millions of people every week. That gives your matchmaker a much larger pool to search than the private database of a traditional matchmaking service. Duet narrows that pool based on things like location, stage of life, and relationship goals. Your matchmaker then reviews those profiles and decides who may be worth introducing.
A profile can't capture everything about a person. Talking with you helps your matchmaker understand what a profile doesn't show, and so does what you share after a date.
Because a person makes that call, we can explain the thinking behind every introduction we send.
You see fewer introductions, but each one has been reviewed by a real matchmaker.
Fewer introductions.
Better reasons to meet.
Who it's for
Matchmaking isn't for everyone, and it isn't meant to be. If you enjoy the search itself, keep going. Your profile stays exactly as it is either way.
You're intentional about dating. You have a rough sense of what you want and you're willing to say it out loud.
You'd rather meet one promising person. You'd rather consider a few introductions than browse hundreds of profiles.
You value a personal introduction. Every introduction is handpicked by your matchmaker and tailored to what you're looking for.
You're ready for real dates. A coffee or a drink in the next few weeks, not another conversation that stalls.
Pricing
The service is the same in every plan. The only difference is how long your matchmaker works with you. Longer plans simply cost less per month.
Every plan includes
$416 / month
$1,249 for three months
$333 / month
$1,999 for six months
$271 / month
$3,249 for twelve months
Monthly figures are the package price divided across its length. Matchmaking sits alongside your Duet Premium subscription, which is billed separately. Nothing is charged until you've spoken to a matchmaker and decided to go ahead. We don't charge per introduction, and we don't promise a set number of them.
Questions
Every situation is different. Ask your matchmaker anything you'd like to know before deciding.
Tell us what you're looking for. We'll help you focus on the people most worth meeting.
